Danny Graham know that beating Manchester City would be a massive scalp for the Swans
City arrive at the Liberty Stadium tomorrow in a reverse of the Swans opening Premier League game – a game they lost 4-0 at the Ethiad back in August
And in their ranks will be a former team mate of Graham in Adam Johnson – they played together at Middlesbrough
“I know Adam well and I still speak to him. I used to pick him up on the way to training when he was a scholar at Middlesbrough,”Graham told the Evening Post.
“He was on a YTS contract, so I used to give him a lift because he wasn’t old enough to drive, but I think he can come and pick me up in his cars now with the number of cars he’s probably got!
“He’s come on leaps and bounds since then, and he’s deserved his chance with City and England.
“We haven’t got any bets riding on the game. We both just want to get three points tomorrow, and hopefully I’ll do that.
“A lot’s changed. I think we’ve adapted well to the Premier League and we’ve come into our own over the course of the season,” he said.
“To go to Manchester City for the first game was always going to be tough. We took a bit of a beating, but we never once let that get to us and we always thought we were good enough to stay in the Premier League.
“We’re a totally different team from when we last played them.
“We’ve done well against the so-called bigger teams, so we’ll be going into it full of confidence and trying to get three points.
“They’re going to be wanting to bounce back from their defeat to Sporting Lisbon, so we’ll be expecting a reaction tomorrow,” Graham added.
“It’s up to us as players to get right amongst them from the start and that will give the fans a lift.
“The fans are very vocal down here. No matter what the score is, they back us to the hilt. It’s great to have and I’m sure they’ll make it hostile for City.
“With the amount of money City have spent and the world-class players they’ve got, it would be a massive scalp.”
