Neil Taylor insists that there is no talk about the Swans in Europe next season despite their lofty league position
“We always felt that we would get better as the season went on,” said Taylor of the Swans’ Premier progress in their debut year.
“All the time we’ve felt we were building up momentum.
“I saw the table the other day and from the turn of the year, we are actually third – that’s something that shows progression and that’s all we ever wanted.
“We know as a group that we are working hard every day and striving hard to do better.
“But we also know that if you don’t win a couple and others do, you can go from eighth to 15th within a couple of weeks and then you are having different conversations.
“We are not going to win every game between now and the end of the season and we have to be realistic about things.
“That’s why there has not been any talk of Europe, there honestly hasn’t.
“The number one topic all season – even around January and February when people said we would be okay – has been about staying up.
“That’s the main objective. Maybe next year, we can set ourselves a little higher target.
“This season we just have to stay in the Premier League. So we are still are at it as we were in September. We have not got a group of players that are happy to just sit on what we’ve got. That’s the beauty of our team.”
