Poyet ANd Holloway Early Favourites

The names of Gus Poyet and Ian Holloway have been put in the early frame to succeed Brendan Rodgers as Swansea City manager

The Swans will tomorrow begin their hunt for a fourth manager in three years after they confirmed tonight the desire of Brendan Rodgers to accept Liverpool’s offer and become their next manager.

Following on from the departures of Roberto Martinez (2009), Paulo Sousa (2010) and now Brendsn it will be another task that Huw Jenkins will take on as he looks to continue the good work of 11 years at the helm of Swansea City,

And bookies immediately instilled Blackpool boss Ian Holloway as 2/1 favourite followed by Gus Poyet at 4/1.

Alan Curbishley, Chris Hughton and Roberto Martinez make up the top 5 in the current bookies running although it is expected that there will be no shortage of interest in the job at the Swans after their impressive debut season in the Premier League last time around.

If history normally tells us something at this stage it is that the early favourites generally tend to not get the job but time will tell.

The hunt starts…
