Kasper Jorgensen shares some rumours floating around Denmark in terms of potential transfer targets for Michael Laudrup

With a new manager there’s always rumors of new players arriving. With Michael Laudrup being Danish I’ll here focus a bit on some Danish players that could be interesting for Swansea.

Thomas Kahlenberg, Wolfsburg
29 year old attacking midfielder. He’s owned by German side Wolfsburg, but he has been playing for the French club Evian on loan since January. He’s a very clever footballer with a great view for his teammates. He usually plays in the central part of the pitch, but he can also play on the left wing. Kahlenberg has a good shot hidden in his right foot, and when he plays on the left wing he often seeks a bit into the center and shoots on goal. Thomas Kahlenberg have been linked with a move to both Getafe and Mallorca while Michael Laudrup was the headcoach there.

Kahlenberg started his career in Brøndby and was playing a big role on the team while Michael Laudrup was the headcoach. He left Brøndby a year before Laudrup heading to French club, Auxerre. Played four really good years there and in 2009 he moved to Wolfsburg after they had just won the German league. Didn’t get success there at all due to injuries and lack of trust from the headcoach. He has played for Evian the last six months doing really well. He’s in the Danish team for Euro2012 and has played well in the friendlies before the championship.

Price: £1 – 1,5 million as Wolfsburg just want him to leave. French clubs St. Etienne and Evian are very interested in him.

Pro’s:
Clever footballmind
Experience from French league
Knows Michael Laudrup’s system

Con’s:
Slow
A bit of injury problems
Haven’t been successful in Germany

 Michael Krohn-Dehli, Brøndby

29 years old, attack midfielder. He’s actually from the same city as Thomas Kahlenberg (Hvidovre) and they’ve been playing on the same youth team. He’s playing for the Danish club Brøndby, where he by far is the best player. He has a lot of the same qualities as Thomas Kahlenberg being a clever player with a fantastic shot. He’s normally playing on the left wing for Brøndby and for the Danish national team. He’s quicker than Kahlenberg an have made more goals the last seasons.

He has played in the Netherlands for six years of his career, before he returned to Denmark in 2008. He represented Dutch clubs: Ajax, RKC Waalwijk and Sparta Rotterdam. But his career really started back in Denmark for Brøndby, when all his kneeproblems finally were over. He has just scored the winning goal for Denmark against the Netherlands in Euro2012 and he is way to good to play in the Danish league. He makes a lot of goals having made 12 and 5 goals for Brøndby the last two seasons.

Price: £ 1 million as his contract will expire next summer. French club Evian and Dutch club Twente are interested in him.

 Pro’s:

Knows Michael Laudrups playingstyle from his time in the Netherlands

Makes a lot of goals

Always plays well against the best teams (Both on national team and in European club matches)

Cheap (Contract due to expire summer 2013)

 Con’s:

Haven’t had success in bigger league than the Danish

A lot of knee problems until 2008

A couple of other subjects could be:

 Daniel Wass, Benfica

23 year old, Right back/Right wing. A young Dane that has been playing on loan for French club Evian this season. He was bought in summer 2011 by Benfica and loaned out to the French club. The Portuguese don’t want him and they are willing to sell him. He’s a fast player with good technique. His passes and shots are good as well. His qualities are the offensive ones and he needs to be a bit better in the defensive parts of the game. He has impressed the French press with his performances in Evian. Is in the Danish Euro2012 squad.

 Price: £2 million

 Jores Okore, FC Nordsjælland

19 year old, central defender. A central part of FC Nordsjælland surprisingly championship in Denmark. He has only been playing in the Danish Superliga since April 2011. Even though he is only 19 years old he is very calm when playing and has already capped 3 games for Denmark, but he’s born in Ivory Coast. He has been linked with top clubs like Manchester United, Manchester City, Dortmund and Wolfsburg.

 Price: £2,5 – 3 million

An extra little profile is on Michael Laudrups sons:

 Andreas Laudrup, FC Nordsjælland

21 years old, Right winger. He is playing for the Danish champions this season, FC Nordsjælland. He’s an exciting player that mostly has a playing style similar to his uncle, Brian Laudrup. He’s pretty fast, has good technique with his left foot and loves to challenge the left backs in Denmark. He’s a small player 5 ft 9 in and lacks some physic. Therefore he has often had problems playing a whole 90 minutes in Denmark. I think he needs more games, before he’s ready for a move to Swansea and this year his club FC Nordsjælland are qualified for the group stage of the Champions League, where he can gain experience. While Michael Laudrup was coaching Getafe, Andreas played for Real Madrid’s youth team.

 Mads Laudrup:

23 year old, midfield. Mads started his career well in at FC Copenhagen and played a couple of games for the first team. But he moved to HB Køge, a little club that often is in the bottom of the Superliga or the top of the second best league in Denmark. He had a lot of injury problems and never really impressed over an entire season. In the beginning of May he moved to Iceland and is now playing for the club Stjarnan. He has not shown any signs that he has the quality to play in the Premier League in the future.
