Michael Laudrup looks set to move back into the market to get cover for Neil Taylor after the full back was ruled out for the season after breaking his ankle
The Swans confirmed the blow for them and Taylor yesterday after it was revealed that he had dislocated and broken his ankle in three places after a challenge with Craig Gardner on Saturday.
And although Ben Davies stepped in admirably on the day itself, Laudrup says it is likely that the Swans will move into the market to get cover for Taylor.
He told the Western Mail “We will have to see what options we have
“There are two completely different cases in Taylor and Chico.
“Let’s see what happens with Chico but at the worst it’s three games – it’s much more serious about Neil first of all for him as a player and a person.
“One second you’re running there playing, the next you’re out for you don’t know how long. So we’ll have to do something because we have one left full-back and he’s 19 years old but let’s see what we can do.
“Ben did well and was great in pre-season but he’s still only 19; we can’t put that much responsibility and pressure on the shoulders of one person and say you’re the only one and there’s no-one else.
“We’ll see what possibilities we have. We can’t go out and buy someone but we’ll have to do something.
“What happens if Ben plays and gets injured or gets the flu? We’ll have to have an extra player.”
