Jonathan De Guzman believes that the midfield battle is the key to today’s match at the Liberty with Chelsea
Dutchman de Guzman, who scored the third goal in Swansea’s 3-1 triumph at Liverpool, is expecting a titanic battle but one he thinks the Swans could win.
“Chelsea have a great side, especially in midfield, but we are at home and in a very good mood at the moment,” he said.
“Hopefully we can get something out of it. They are a world-class team but let’s see what we can do.
“We are playing against the big sides but, if we concentrate on our own game and get our performance right, I think we can do very well.
“We’ve held our ground well in midfield and played some good football,” said de Guzman.
“Everybody (in midfield) has their qualities and we complement each other very well.
“Leon holds the midfield very well and Ki can run with the ball and make passes. Ki makes things very easy when you play alongside him โ he makes some great runs .
“We knew it was going to be a very tough week with Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea in seven days but we are very pleased with how things have gone in the first two games.”
