Meanwhile Back At The Football Club

It is sometimes said that there are some referees out there who believe that the game is all about them and that they almost try and create a celebrity status for themselves.   Whether that is true or not is open for debate but you would certainly believe that Bayram Tutumlu thinks that the world should revolve around him even if it doesn’t at this point in time.

The club’s decision in the week to not deal with the agent may have raised a few eyebrows here and there but having read and heard some of the things that have gone on then I have to say that I am not surprised at the decision that was taken.   The man represents the manager but appeared to be believing that he was Swansea City and therefore could take decisions on behalf of the football club.   That was never going to go down well within the walls of the Liberty Stadium so it is difficult to see what choice they had other than to sever ties with him.

The question that is raised immediately is whether that meant that the manager’s position would become untenable but he immediately put minds at rest by saying that he still intended to be here next season.  But there was surely no co-incidence in the fact that he was shortly after reported to be a target for PSG – the result of a wounded representative hawking about his man in an act of revenge?  I’ll leave you to try and work that out.

We have had endless accusations thrown around during the early weeks of this summer (is it really only 4 weeks since the Fulham game?) and none of them have been overly helpful to the club who will be hampered in transfers more by the apparent unrest at the club then any slow movement which is another claim made by Tutumlu.

I don’t think anyone (other than you know who) is really worried by the lack of transfers at the moment and I know for a fact that the club are working on several transfer targets who are moving closer to completion.  Interestingly they are doing it in the best way – out of the public eye – which Bayram would probably know if he was still allowed to know these things but there we go, you reap what you sow and all that stuff.

Over the next few weeks, things will move on at the football club with new players coming in – some having been mentioned already and some being worked on quietly in the background – and of course we are probably just a matter of days away from the announcement of the new sponsor who will be displayed on our shirts next season both at home and in Europe.

What we need to do as fans – and I wish the media would follow suit – is to ignore a certain person who is only too happy to pick up a phone and concentrate on the club doing what the club has done so well in recent seasons and that’s to bring in the players that make us stronger than we were last season and who are capable of embarking on the challenges ahead.

Let’s get back to normality.  Bayram who?
