You would have thought by now that after numerous replays and two appeals that they would realise that Carroll was not sent off because of the reaction of Chico but because he swung his arm at the defender in a fit of petulance that we have seen from him before.
Nobody has ever disputed that Chico’s reaction more than exaggerated the incident at the time but when the independent panels have looked at it several times and decided that he deserved the red card that the people leading the appeals would just shut up and accept that the player deserved what he got.
I actually now hope that West Ham get relegated at the end of the season as the amusement that will come when they return to this incident will be even more amusing to watch then it is now. You can just hear Big Sam in May saying ‘If Andy hadn’t been cheated by Chico then we would still be a Premier League team now” which is simply not right.
If Carroll wants to act the thug (remember his elbow on Garry Monk when he played for Newcastle) then he has to pay the consequences and no amount of moaning from Sam or Brady will make any difference with that no matter how long they moan about it.
“Andy Carroll is red-carded for what amounts to accidentally disturbing the ponytail of an opponent.” Brady wittered in her Sun column
“Swansea’s Chico Flores clutches his face and rolls around bodypopping on the floor like he’s been shot. It’s one of the worst cases of bad sportsmanship I have seen in 20 years.”
West Ham failed in two appeals to have Carroll’s ban overturned and Brady is unhappy that while her man has to sit out, Chico can carry on playing.”
Well, Ms Brady let me explain that Chico can carry on playing as he did not swing his elbow at someone unlike your player so dry your eyes and accept the fact and concentrate on the failings of your team rather than blaming other people for them. Perhaps sanctioning รยฃ15m for Carroll was actually where it started to go wrong?
