Bony’s Message To Swans Fans?

Bony ran towards the supporters and was clearly heard to be shouting “Here” whilst pointing to the ground suggesting that the reports started on the rag pages of Sports Direct were completely untrue and that he wanted to stay at the Liberty.

Bony was signed by Laudrup for a club record fee last summer and almost before the door had shut behind Laudrup Sports Direct claimed “A number of Europe’s giants continue to be linked with Bony, including Borussia Dortmund as they eye a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, and SportsDirect News understands that Bony may be keen to make a swift exit from Swansea at the end of the season.”

However, after heading home Pablo Hernandez cross for the third goal to complete the Swansea rout Bony’s statement appears to suggest otherwise. His 17th goal of the season though will see him attracting interest from elsewhere although he does not seem in a hurry to hasten his exit from the club that gave him his chance in the Premier League.

Bony will surely exceed the twenty goal barrier for the season after a promising first season at this level which has now seen him score 8 times in the Premier League despite the Swans indifferent form for large parts of the season.

The one thing that stood out for me yesterday was the reaction of the players who all clearly backed the new man in charge Garry Monk with their performances and fight on a day when it was desperately needed to put some daylight between us and the bottom three places. That kind of performance and the reaction of the players to all three goals told a story that no reports will tell me different.

Bony I think is here to stay and if he does end up elsewhere in the summer it will be for a substantial amount of money only and not because he is looking to hasten his exit.
