A win on Saturday will make it seven wins out of eight in competitive football for the Swans and take us into the first international break of the season on the back of being in a Champions League spot and a potential top of the table clash against Chelsea to come in the next two weeks.
Of course that is dreaming slightly of what could be but we are right to target home games and make the Liberty an unforgiving place to come as an away player. As fans we have our part to play in that by making for an intimidating atmosphere – something that was definitely missing last weekend. Garry Monk has said that the players need to step up their performance level and I guess therefore the same could be said for us as fans.
We know the Liberty can be an intimidating place to come and it would be brilliant to see us take 30+ points from our home games this season – something that is well within our grasp given the quality of the squad that we have available.
Optimism should be high this weekend and we know that if we play to our potential then the three points should be ours.
“We know what we need to improve on and the mistakes we need to cut out,” said the Swans boss.
“We’ve spoken about improving our home form to make the Liberty a fortress, which would allow us to go away with the confidence behind us.
“We can pass the ball a lot better than we have in certain periods, and we will improve.”
I must admit it sounds a bit strange to read those words from a manager who is in charge of one of only four teams in the division with a 100% record but it also fills me greatly with confidence as our thoughts turn to the weekend game and West Brom.
So the first step to fortress Liberty starts here!
