Keep It Going Gylfi

Gylfi has six assists to his name since returning to the Swans this summer from Tottenham and he has settled back into life at the Liberty as if he had never been away.

His two years at Spurs were nowhere as successful as his loan spell at the Swans in 2012 or his opening nine games back at the club for that matter. He is proof that some players suit some clubs and what is Swansea’s gain also appears to be the gain of his country as well.

Two goals in midweek – one from the penalty spot – has Iceland dreaming of a place at Euro 2016 and with the likes of Gylfi in their side then they certainly have a good chance of securing something that many would have told you would almost be impossible.

He will now look to continue his good form this afternoon at the Britannia Stadium against Stoke and is urged to continue his excellent form by team mate Neil Taylor

“Gylfi’s been great. He’s a better player now than when he went to Tottenham.” Taylor said

“He’s come back to Swansea and he realises he’s an important player. He probably didn’t feel that at Tottenham. He didn’t feel loved. He’s that type of player who needs to be loved.

“Gylfi knows that he is a big, strong player for us. That’s the same for Iceland and it is why he is doing the job for them too. It’s great that he is doing it on both fronts at the moment.

“But Gylfi has to keep the goals and assists going. Someone like Fabregas will do it all season. It’s why he is world-class.”

Sigurdsson also scored for the Swans in their opening day win at Old Trafford and is proving himself already to be one of the bargains of the summer and as Swans fans we hope for more of the same this afternoon
