Let’s Return To Winning Ways

After three wins to start the campaign it has been two defeats and two draws in the last four for us although we can feel disappointed over our last Premier League outing having twice let a goal advantage slip against Newcastle.

And I am sure that is one of the things that Garry Monk will be saying to his side to put behind them this week as they start the next round of Premier League games with an away game against Stoke.

There are just four league games in this mini round of matches – Leicester and Arsenal at home and Everton away being the others – and the Swans will be hoping for at least 6 or 7 points to continue their excellent league position.

We could end the day today in the Champions League places after yesterday’s results started to go in our favour again and a win at Stoke – if we can get it – is always a good win as it is never the easiest place to go no matter who you are in this division.

We will have to go there without Jonjo Shelvey who is suspended after picking up his 5th yellow card of the season. To have done so so quickly into the campaign is also a concern that we will need to address – we don’t have the depth of midfielders to be losing people so easily to suspension.

Anyway Shelvey’s absence should give a chance to Tom Carroll to shine in midfield alongside Ki and Gylfi although Jay Fulton is also waiting in the wings for his chance but I just cannot see it happening today.

Prediction wise, for those entering our prediction league this season, there is very much mixed feeling on this game at the moment with 46% saying a Swans win and 34% saying a draw. The fans can also not separate the first Swans scorer between Wilf and Gylfi with both on similar percentages.

It does promise to be a tough encounter for the Swans but one that we are more than capable of winning and I have a sneaky feeling that this time we may well manage the win – 2-1 Swans.
