Carroll Celebrates First Goal

The on loan Tottenham player finished well having been played in by Modou Barrow and it was the least he deserved as he put in another impressive display in the centre of the Swans midfield as they brushed aside their League Two opponents with some ease, running out 6-2 winners.

Carroll’s goal was the comfort zone that we wanted after a tight first half saw us go in with just a one goal advantage and it allowed the game to open up even more to make for a highly entertaining second half.

There have been limited chances for Carroll in the Swans first team but when he has played he has always impressed and it is certainly easy to see why he is so highly rated and also why we came in for him on a season long loan back in the summer.

“I was over the moon,” said Carroll. “I’ve been waiting a while for the goal but I was delighted in the end.

“I thought we put on a good performance and had quality in the final third.

“I’ve come in to play games and hopefully I have shown the manager exactly what I can do.

“We have good midfielders here but I want a run in the side and build up my confidence.

“You’ve got to beat the best in order to win the trophy but to win silverware would be massive achievement for everyone.”
