Sky sources: West Ham had £7m offer for Swansea's Bafetimbi Gomis rejected. As it stands, not expecting fresh offer. @SkySportsNewsHQ

It has been widely reported during this transfer window that Gomis wants away from the Liberty Stadium with him being quoted in foreign media with comments on “Broken promises” following his move to the club back last summer.
Gomis spent most of the first part of the season on the bench thanks to the form of Wilfried Bony but since the striker’s club record move to Manchester City last month he has found himself first choice at the Liberty but that has not stopped what appears to be an agent trying to manoeuvre a big pay day for both himself and his client.
Gomis for me would be better staying at the club and giving himself a run of form in the first team if he wants a move away and show that he can do it at this level. Given the form of Andy Carroll and Sakho it is difficult to see him getting much – if any – game time at Upton Park and certainly less than he would see if he sat here and saw the rest of the season out with us.
Gomis was responsible for the equaliser when West Ham visited the Liberty last month and although his header from a corner was given as an own goal it was a reasonably harsh decision for a good header that was heading in without any input from Mark Noble.
The Sky news reports suggest that there will be no further bids from West Ham but I am not sure that we have heard the last of the Gomis affair this January and there is still time for someone to come in and prise him away. Should this happen then we have no alternative but to move into the market ourselves?
