Richards was one of the stars of Wales’ 1-0 win over Belgium last Friday night in Cardiff although rumours that he still has Chelsea’s Eden Hazard in his pocked are yet to be confirmed.
However, despite that performance he remains one of the favourites to leave the Swans this summer having said at the end of last season that he wanted first team football – something I would imagine is massively more important given Wales likely march to France next summer for the European Championships.
Fulham and Derby have been mentioned as possible suitors beforehand and yesterday it emerged that there was unconfirmed interest from two Premier League clubs who are rumoured to be Palace and West Brom.
Richards has had a loan spell at Palace beforehand so this interest maybe no more than a lazy link with a former club and West Brom is always a possibility for any defender as they are a ide that has a tendency to leak goals on a frequent basis.
Whether Swansea would be prepared to do a deal with a fellow Premier League club remains to be seen and it does make more sense to let him drop to the Championship.
There is another possibility that could be considered which could be a loan deal with a Premier League club and see how he adapts to a season in the top flight but that one seems a massive long shot to me.
