Swans Invited To West Ham Party

The game will be the Hammers last ever league game at the Boleyn Ground – they will move to the Olympic Stadium at the start of the 2016/17 season so will be an emotional occasion that will spark our own memories of the final game at the Vetch Field.

The Boleyn Ground has been the home of West Ham since the start of the 1904/05 campaign, with the club having played at three other stadiums prior to the move.

Named รขโ‚ฌหœThe Castleรขโ‚ฌโ„ข during the inaugural campaign, West Hamรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs first-ever match at the stadium saw them face bitter rivals Millwall in front of a crowd of up to 10,000 fans.

These fixture lists in recent years seem to have thrown Swansea in some of the most intriguing games at the front and back end of the seasons. They were the first league opponents for Manchester United managers David Moyes and Louis Van Gaal whilst we were also the opponents for Sir Alex Ferguson’s last league game at Old Trafford.

With next season we will have opened twice now away to the reigning Premier League Champions and four of our five Premier League seasons will have seen us pitted against one of the big names in the division.

We now have an invite to West Ham’s big leaving party…could we be the gatecrashers that spoil it?
