The Atalanta midfielder was first linked with the Swans last summer but nothing came of that particular rumour but this one clearly has some more substance thanks to the representative’s comments
The negotiations were confirmed to ItaSportPress by representative Giovanni Bia.
“Swansea called several times and are seriously interested in signing him. If we reach an agreement, he’d be very happy with this new experience in the Premier League.
“Over the next few days there will be more talks and if all goes smoothly he could sign the new contract soon.â€
it was reported last week that the player would be available for a fee of around £4.5m.
