Former Chelsea Star Backs Swans Gesture

We have continually – over the past 13 years – made decisions that go against the normal grain of a football club and in our four years in the Premier League have been hailed around the world as a model that should be followed by others.

This week’s announcement will hopefully be one that other clubs will follow but it is not just the fans who are backing the gesture as a brilliant one, it has been noticed by former players as well.

Mario Melchiot made over 400 club appearances in his career as well as winning over 20 caps for Holland and he took the time to take to his Twitter account to praise the Swans for their work in announcing this gesture
