The last transfer window may have only just closed but the speculation is out there again for the January one with Elmohamady top of a few team’s target list after failing to secure a move back to the Premier League in the summer.
Hull were relegated from the Premier League last term and it is widely believed that the winger wants to return to the top flight as soon as possible. If that cannot be with Hull then so be it it seems especially when you have four teams at that level supposedly tracking you.
Everton and Aston Villa are the latest two to be added to the list that already included us and Leicester although it is not believed from our side that we ever made a move in the summer so will be interesting to see if we have any intention of making one in January.
Hull manager Steve Bruce said: “I won’t stand in his way. Elmo is in the final year of his contract with us, and the last thing we would want is to lose him on a free next summer.
“Ideally, we want him to stay for longer and we intend to talk to him about signing a new long-term deal. And, while he is here, he’s got to knuckle down and respect the contract he has got with us.
“He is just one of several players we’ve got who are desperate to play in the Premier League, and why wouldn’t they be? I want to manage in the Premier League. But you have got to accept that we’ve been relegated and, together, it’s up to us to put that right.”
