A big few days ahead…

Just a few weeks ago things appeared to be going so well as we cruised past QPR at the Liberty but just one point from nine since then has seen us slip well into the bottom half of the Championship table needing a win to keep pace with those in the top half

Saturday’s defeat was as predictable as the goalscorer as a new manager and a Tammy Abraham goal were enough to see us defeated again but one of the positives of the Championship can be that you get the chance to bounce back really early.

Of course it won’t be easy against a Blackburn side who sit just outside the Top 6 and four points ahead of the Swans but with this and a home game to follow against Reading it could be a big week for Graham Potter and the Swans.

Potter could restore absentees Kyle Naughton, Matt Grimes and Tom Carroll to the side whilst Blackburn expect ex-Swans striker Danny Graham and midfielder Harrison Reed to be fit despite back and groin issues which saw them withdrawn against Leeds.

One of the criticisms levelled at Potter in recent weeks has been his tinkering of the side and this is something that the Swans really need to do less of If we are to have a serious promotion push this season.

The Swans themselves are also talking up the importance of the game with midfielder Bersant Celina stating รขโ‚ฌล“The two games this week are very important for us, especially off the back of Saturdayรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs defeat against Aston Villa

รขโ‚ฌล“When you play at home it lifts you. You have the support of the fans and that helps motivate us.

รขโ‚ฌล“Playing at the Liberty Stadium always brings a good feeling and I am enjoying the opportunity every time we play at home.

รขโ‚ฌล“Home games will be very important for us this season. They are always tough in the Championship, but our goal should be to beat anyone we play at the Liberty.รขโ‚ฌ
