It has been a long four months for the players of the Swansea City Ladies team.

The pandemic has meant that there has been no football for them since a game against Cardiff Met back in November but thankfully now they have the green light to return to action on March 14.

The Swans are, of course, the reigning Welsh Premier League champions and will welcome Aberystwyth Town to Llandarcy for the resumption of the season with the team sat 2nd place in the table behind Cardiff Met who have the same number of points but the Swans have a game in hand.

And Swans player Brooke Llewellyn cannot wait for the return of the football –ย โ€œIt has been such a down time for everyone and not everybody has been feeling good about the situation,โ€ she said.

โ€œI think we as a club need to make sure we lift everyone else up because we have the opportunity to come back and can help to motivate people.

โ€œIโ€™m really excited. We are really lucky because we are in a situation that we can come back and train and play soon.

โ€œAs a team, having that bond again is really important to get through the rest of the season.

โ€œOf course, it was frustrating but these are unprecedented times. We just had to adapt to the situation and make sure that we kept in contact with each other.

โ€œIt was frustrating not being able to train but it was nice to know that we were all in the same boat and werenโ€™t the only ones in that situation.โ€
