Freddie adds his words to the bandwagon

There is a definite theme coming out of the Swansea City camp this week and that is one of resilience, recharging, regrouping and going again after we headed into the current international break on the back of successive defeats to Bournemouth and Cardiff City.

The Swans promotion hopes have been damaged by those two defeats but with nine games to go there is plenty left to play for and whilst performances have been poor in recent weeks we also know that within the squad there is capability of better performances as we have seen at other points so far this season.

So far this week we have heard both Steve Cooper and Korey Smith talk about what needs to be done during the break with the Swans boss talking about important to have time to train properly whilst midfielder Smith was all about recharging the batteries during this time away from league pressures.

Woodman comes at it from an angle of a strong mentality that has been talked about as being present in the squad although there have been some arguments that the strong mentality has been missing in recent weeks so again this is just a case of wait and see what the post international break performances look like.

Woodman himself has made some poor mistakes in recent weeks but says that the squad just needs to keep going and make the most of the nine games that they have left.

โ€œI think you can see that our mentality is strong, there have been a number of examples as recently as the Stoke and Middlesbrough games where we kept going until the end,โ€ Woodman said via the club’s official website.

โ€œOf course, we are disappointed to lose back-to-back games, but we’ve just got to keep going and getting wins.

โ€œWe finished strong last season and, although this is probably a bit different to last year, we want to do the same again.

โ€œEveryone’s fighting for everything. We’ve got nine games left, so we just need to quickly get back to picking up points and staying in the thick of it.โ€

The Swans next game is Friday next week when they face a trip to Birmingham with an 8pm kick off.

  1. Woodman has good reflexes as a keeper but he must work on his distribution. When he’s not giving the ball away he kicks it into touch more often than Dan Biggar.
