Six more for the Ladies as they keep up 100% record

Swansea City Ladies kept up their 100% record this season with another comprehensive win this afternoon – this time scoring six unanswered goals on their way to victory over Cyncoed.

After a frustrating first half where the Swans had to wait until almost half time to take the lead they went goal crazy in the last twenty minutes of the game, adding five more goals to their tally to keep their perfect record intact as they look to retain their league championship title.

Laura Davies eased any nerves that were in the home side camp when she headed home on 44 minutes from a cross by Tija Richardson.ย  ย It was the reward the Swans deserved after another strong first half as they looked to capitalise on the fact that nearest rivals Cardiff Met dropped points in midweek.

However it was 69 minutes into the game before the lead was doubled and this time it was Richardson who turned goalscorer from provider as she headed in Chivers’ corner to make it 2-0.

Four goals in the last eight minutes of the game really did stretch the Swans advantage.ย  Richardson was first to score when she grabbed her second of the game from a cross by last week’s hat-trick hero Katy Hosford.

Two minutes later it was 4-0 when an own goal added to the visitors misery while Chivers made it five with two minutes to go before Beynon completed the scoring in the 90th minute with the Ladies sixth goal of the afternoon.

Elsewhere Cardiff Met kept up the pressure at the top end of the league with a 4-2 win over Abergavenny leaving the league very much a two horse race but with the Swans in pole position.
