Another winger in Swansea link

For a team that doesn’t play with wingers we seem to get linked with a fair number of them and now the name of a Dutchman in Virgil Misidjan is being rumoured as being a transfer target of both the Swans and Reading.

Dutch news outlet Voetbal International reports thatย both sides are currently monitoring the 27-year old, who is out of contract this summer and looks set to be moving on at the end of the season.

Misidjan has missed the last three games due to contracting Covid but looks to have already helped in keeping his current team in the top division in Holland.ย  ย He started his career at Dutch side Willem II before spending five years at Bulgarian side Ludogorets, where he played in the Europa League and Champions League.

It is difficult to know where to file this particular rumour.ย  ย We used to be linked with Dutch players on a frequent basis largely due to the general chat of a former director which could easily be a source for this particular rumour as well.ย  ย That said, there is much about the player that fits someone that could well interest the Swans although failure in the play offs may see Reading look like a more likely next move for the player?

Simply this is one worth keeping an eye on but don’t bet your mortgage on it!
