Wolves and West Brom also lining up a Cooper move?

Steve Cooper will be a man in demand this summer it seems after stories emerged this morning that both Wolves and West Brom also have him on a shortlist to become their new manager.

There are strange times in the Premier League (and clubs dropping out of it this season) with managers announcing their departure before the season end starting the speculation early which can be frustrating given the fact that our season hasn’t ended and we have at least one, and hopefully two massive games yet ahead of us for Cooper to negotiate.

The two West Midlands teams both confirmed yesterday that they would be needing new managers next season after Nuno Espirito Santo and Sam Allardyce stated their departures after Sunday’s last games in the Premier League.

The Wolves boss leaves after a successful period for the club where he steered them into the Premier League and Europe whilst Allardyce leaves after failing to keep the Baggies in the top flight.

Cooper’s name is already high on the Crystal Palace shortlist as their new manager and he was linked with the West Brom job before it was confirmed but the Wolves link is a new one although worth noting that here it is one of several and he is much lower down this list then he is elsewhere (allegedly!)

What it does continue to show though is that two play off campaigns at the Swans has fans and boardrooms alike sitting up and taking notice and means that whatever happens in the next seven days at Swansea the future of Steve Cooper is unclear and uncertain.
