Martin set to lose out to Bournemouth’s Parker in Manager of the month award

It is a clear indication of how good our performances were during the last mini round of games that Russell Martin is one of four nominations for the manager of the month award that will be announced tomorrow.

The Swans boss is nominated alongside Blackpool boss Neil Critchley, Fulham manager Marco Silva and Bournemouth’s Scott Parker for the award, his first nomination since moving to South Wales at the end of the summer.

However, Martin will almost certainly lose out to Scott Parker who led his side to five successive wins in October in an unbeaten 15 match run to start the season. Five wins, ten goals and just one against will surely be enough to ensure an award for Parker who made the switch from Fulham himself back in the summer.

During the same period, Fulham and Blackpool won 12 points from 15 and the Swans 10 which will be enough to tell you that whilst the credit must be given for the nomination, the award will almost certainly go elsewhere.

Which is of course good given the inevitable curse that will be spoken about for the manager who wins it!
