“A dishonest player” -TV pundits discuss Piroe but in a good way

Joel Piroe is a player making the headlines at the moment for the Swans. Yesterday’s top class strike was his 10th league goal of what is turning out to be a very productive first season in a Swansea shirt.

Signed for a fee of just ยฃ1m in the summer it is looking to be one of the shrewdest bits of transfer business that the Swans have done in many a year with the striker one of the leading scorers in the Championship this term.

Attracting praise from many sources, yesterday was no difference after Colin Murray and Jobi McAnuff discussed his performance on Quest yesterday with some strong praise and a very tongue in cheek comment about the honesty of the striker.

Presenter Colin Murray said “They (Swans) have just uncovered a genuine star.ย  That’s his 10th goal and he never played Championship football before.

“The only downside is he is dishonest.ย  I have to say that on National TV.ย  He claims to be left footed but I am calling shenanigans on that.ย  I don’t think you can be left footed and score five goals with your right foot this season.”

McAnuff added “He is an absolute real find.ย  The missing piece for Russell Martin and how he wants to play and that person who can really go and finish those chances off.”

Talking of the goal, McAnuff added “We talk about a piece of individual brilliance where he just shifts it out of his foot and puts it into the top corner.”

Long may these discussions continue and remember – no Piroe no party!
