The Swans Boxing Day fixture at Millwall has been confirmed as postponed due to continued cases of Covid within both camps although largely towards the Millwall one.

Lions boss Gary Rowett confirmed earlier the extent of the damage of the outbreak within his squad and this led to an announcement a short while ago that the fixture would be postponed with a rearranged date to be announced in due course.

The Swans confirmed the news with a short statement which read “Millwall informed the EFL that they would be unable to fulfil the fixture due to a number of positive Covid-19 cases within their squad.

“In light of the increased transmission rate of the Omicron variant, the EFL will now review the circumstances surrounding the postponement and any rearranged date will be confirmed in due course.

“Swansea City will automatically refund supporters who have purchased tickets or streaming passes for the fixture, while National Express have informed the club that fans who have bought coach travel will also automatically be refunded.”
