Leeds Live are reporting that Nottingham Forest – under former Swans boss Steve Cooper -have joined the list of clubs looking to secure the signature of striker Sam Greenwood.
Given the Swans previous interest and Cooper’s involvement with the England U-23s this is probably not a surprise but the same publication also reports that Bielsa is always reluctant to leave players leave who have a chance of first team football which Greenwood certainly has.
The Leeds boss though was not ruling out a move for any of his younger players when he said “It’s a subject where it’s a possibility.ย Players that are immediately below the group of the first-team [U23s], they only have one reason to stay at the club – that they have real possibilities to dispute a place in the team, that they have the desire to fight for their space and show that they deserve it.
“With those parameters, we will make the decision that’s best for the players and for the club.”
It is also reported that “A Nottingham Forest scout was in attendance at Leeds U23s’ PL2 fixture with Leicester City earlier this month, a game in which Greenwood picked up an assist for Joe Gelhardt’s first-half strike.”
