Swans and Cardiff City chasing Nakhi Wells

The Swans are reported to have made an enquiry to Bristol City for a potential loan move for Nakhi Wells who has fallen out of favour at Ashton Gate.

The last few days of the transfer window will always throw out some unexpected links and this is one of those whilst Cardiff City are also reported as having made contact over a potential move across the Severn Bridge.

Football League World report that both sides have made an enquiry for the Bermuda international who has failed to start a single league game since the beginning of November, with the likes of Antoine Semenyo, Chris Martin and Andreas Weimann all currently ahead of him in the pecking order at Ashton Gate.

The Telegraph also report that the Ashton Gate side could be prepared to let Wells go out on loan which has already alerted both South Wales clubs who have been quick to make contact and consider a move.

Robins boss Nigel Pearson hinted last week at exits from the club to fund some incomings (sound familiar?) when he saidย “We are where we are, we have to have a realistic understanding of how we manage our way through this situation.

“I’m not saying we’re not going to do any business categorically, what I’m saying is we have players who we may allow to leave if it allows us to do the business that we want to do bringing players in. It really is a case of it being that way round.

“The decisions that we make now can’t be ones which are hit and miss, we’ve got to try and get things right because our squad has been too big, the wage bill has been too big.”

Wells joined Bristol City in January 2020 following two loan stints with Queens Park Rangers.
