As the Swans prepare to welcome Manchester City defender Finley Burns on loan today, it was Brandon Cooper’s own loan that was confirmed yesterday afternoon as he made his way up the M4 to join Swindon Town on loan for the rest of the season.
Cooper will ply his trade for the rest of this season in League Two with Swindon who are currently sat in the play off places in 7th place as they bid for a return to League One following their relegation at the end of last season.
Cooper of course has played at that level before having had a successful loan spell at Newport County below and he moves with the Swans hoping that the move is right for his future development.
For their part, Swindon are delighted with their capture with Head Coach Ben Garner telling their official site “That’s one we’ve worked hard on for the last three weeks now.
“That will be a really strong signing for us.
“Really good player, good defender, good communicator, very, very good on the ball, suits the way we play and Russell Martin was very, very keen for him to come here because it is a similar style of play to what they’ve got at Swansea.
“He’ll be developed here and we’re really excited.”
Townโs Director of Football, Ben Chorley added โWeโre delighted to get Brandon with the group. He comes with great pedigree.
โAnother thatโs played games at a higher level this season.ย
โHeโs vocal, leads and comes from a club that has a very similar style and structure to their play.ย
โWe wish him the best for his time here.โ
An excellent club and situation for Brandonโs development. It will certainly help us in the long run. Good business by the Swans.
