Joel Piroe and Michael Obafemi have started to form a real partnership up front for the Swans in recent weeks, with both scoring in the 3-1 win against Bristol City.
That goal for Obafemi was his second in three games and Piroe’s was his first league goal since December, but the signs are promising for the duo with each player offering different attributes up top.
They have yet to start together away from home, although it’s expected that they will both play tomorrow at Sheffield United where they will both hope to again add goals to their names.
Piroe has spoken to the official website and he says that he is relishing the link up with Obafemi in the team and hopes that it will go from strength to strength.
He said: โMichael and I have a good feeling when we are in the team together, and itโs always good when we are forward players and we are scoring goals because it all helps the team,
“It shows we have different threats which is better for the team, and I think you can see he is happy when I score, and I am happy when Michael scores.
โThis is what it means to be in a team. I have worked with Michael every day since he joined the team and I know what a good player he is, and I think we are enjoying playing together.
โWe want to help the team. It has been a hard spell for us, but we have always been clear in what we need to do and to play how we want to play.
โThis win over Bristol City was important, for sure, with the character we showed. It is good for the confidence, we stood up for each other.
โWe know what we are capable of, we have to bring it.”
