Naughton to return for West Brom fixture

The Swans have a fitness boost this week with Russell Martin confirming on Friday that Kyle Naughton was back in training this week and is available for selection when the Swans visit the Hawthorns to take on West Brom on Monday night.

Naughton has been missing since coming off in the first half during the home defeat to Luton at the start of the month and was a big miss as the Swans went down to heavy defeats on the road against Stoke and Sheffield United taking their run of away matches without a win to 6.

Naughton though should return to a defence that needs tightening up particularly away from home leaving new signing Nathanael Ogbeta as the only absentee from the squad although Martin added that he was expecting him to return to training next week.

โ€œKyle is backon Monday so just Nathanael now who is not available,” Martin told the media on Friday afternoon.

“Naughts has had a full week of training and iys a big boost for us that he is back.ย ย  Nathanael should be back on the grass next week and we need to just ensure he is fully fit and to kick on and get him as many games as possible before the end of the season.

โ€œWest Brom are going through a transition themselves under a new manager.ย ย  They changed things around and trying to find the best way for them.ย ย  They possess an incredibly talented squad that was in the Premier League last year.

“Itโ€™s a tough challenge but an exciting one and we should go there without fear or trepidation.ย  Its all about performance and if we come away having given a performance to be proud of then the result will reflect that.”
