Swans “pushing the most” to sign Wolves midfielder

Swansea City are “pushing the most” to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Luke Cundle on loan according to reports on Twitter.

Cundle is part of the U23 squad at Molineux butย  is attracting much interest from the Championship with Preston, Hull and Huddersfield all credited with interest in the attacking midfield player.

That’s according to Dave Azzopardi, a Wolves researcher on Twitter:

Cundle is a player who plays in the middle but more in the number 10 role rather than the withdrawn positions that Matt Grimes and Allen take up.

Midfield is a concern for Russell Martin this season with fewer options than last after Korey Smith and Flynn Downes left with just Allen coming in on a free transfer to bolster the centre of the park.

The Swans boss did come out after Saturdays horror show against Luton to say no loan deals or transfers were close but this may have changed in recent days. We will have to see.

Swansea’s most recent loan signing from Wolves Morgan Gibbs-White joined Nottingham Forest last week in a deal rising to ยฃ42.5m.
