Planet Swans would like to take this opportunity to wish all our readers, contributors and Swans fans everywhere aย  Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

It has long since been said that there is never a dull moment watching the Swans (well, sometimes that can be debatable) and with the Swans on the edges of the play off positions we head towards 2023 knowing that there will be plenty more twists and turns ahead.

It does feel appropriate this Christmas to turn our thoughts too to two long standing posters of the website that we have lost in the past twelve months – Davillin and Ebo.ย  ย Davillin (Tony) was a poster heading way back to the early days of the website and bought his own style of statistics to the world of Swansea City.ย  ย From his home across the pond I had many opportunities to share a meal or a drink with him and he was always courteous and always passionate about all things Swansea City.

Ebo (John) was taken from us far too early this year and again was a long standing contributor to the website.ย  ย Always firm in his belief whether it be politics or music his passing was a shock to us all and special thoughts are definitely as well with his family this year.

The one thing that this website has achieved as we enjoy our 22nd Christmas of existence is to bring together a host of Swansea City fans from far and wide.ย  ย Lifelong friendships have been forged in our time and we have shared over that time some of the lows and most of the highs of the Swans existence.ย  ย And long may that continue.

My special thanks goes to the team that works together on the website whether that is moderating our forums, contributing our articles or single or multiple contributions on our forums – without you we would be nothing.

So on this Christmas morning I take a minute or two to ask you to raise a glass in memory of those we have lost this year, our special friends Davillin and Ebo and to Swans (and football) fans everywhere.

Merry Christmas to you all.

Been watching the Swans since the very late 1970s and running the Planet Swans website (in all its current and previous guises since the summer of 2001 As it stood JackArmy.net was right at the forefront of some of the activity against Tony Petty back in 2001, breaking many of the stories of the day as fans stood against the actions where the local media failed. Was involved with the Swans Supporters Trust from 2005, for the large part as Chairman before standing down in the summer of 2020.
