Reports suggest Swans chasing Liverpool defender

This weekend’s new transfer rumour is linking the Swans and Watford with a loan move for Liverpool defender and Scotland international Calvin Ramsay.

Ramsay signed on at Anfield last summer when he joined the Reds in a ยฃ6.5m move from Aberdeen last summer.

However reports also suggest that Liverpool are reluctant to let Ramsay out even though he is still in the shadow of Trent Alexander-Arnold and his chances of a start will be slim this season.

Clearly the transfer fee tells you that Liverpool rate Ramsay highly and there is definitely some belief that he could have more game time at Anfield this season particularly as the Reds are stuttering through the campaign and currently sit outside the Champions League places.

“I’m just buzzing and it’s a dream come true really to be here,” the defender told Liverpool’s official website after completing his move.

“It was a dream come true to play for Aberdeen, and now to be at one of the biggest, if not the biggest club in the world, it’s a massive achievement and I’m looking forward to trying to show the fans what I’ve got.”

The Swans of course did loan business with Liverpool last season but Rhys Williams was not a success at Swansea and this could mean that any move this season for another player could see that become a factor.

  1. All this transfer talk at the club is a load of old bull as them owners I’ll not sanction any of if as they will not invest on penny of thyere money into the club and only rely on selling players they have not got much idea running a football club and rely on other people to do it for them just look at the club they own in the states DC United bottom of the league and the only thing they do with our club I’d give false promises ever since they bought into the club only in it to make money .
