The Swans appear to be closing in on the deal that will see Keinan Davis join the Swans ahead of Hull City as he is believed to be undergoing a medical at the club today.

The Swans made Davis their key priority as soon as the deal to take Joel Piroe to Leeds United started to unfold last week and they have moved quickly to fill the gap left by Piroe’s departure by looking to secure the deal for Davis within days.

This time last week the player looked as if he was set for a move to Hull City but there were some complications and the Swans have taken advantage for that and now look like the victors in what was a two horse race.

Davis scored 7 goals on loan at Watford last season in 27 starts having been part of the Nottingham Forest side that won promotion from the Championship the season before.ย  ย It was during that loan spell that former Forest striker Kevin Campbell enthused about the striker by saying โ€œKeinan Davis could make a real difference. He needs more game time to develop but heโ€™s a real handful. He is big, strong and fast. It might take him time to find his feet on the goalscoring front, but I like him. He has a bright future.โ€

Big, strong and fast will be words that certainly appeal to Swans fans and whilst the track record of Davis may not be one that stands out at any level he is the kind of player who just may need a home that suits him.ย  ย For our sake we hope that is Swansea City.

Let’s see how the medical goes but this feels like it is reaching a conclusion!

  1. Its hard to think of a Swansea or Wales forward in better shape right now than Liam Cullen. However Keinan alongside him should upgrade Swansea to be biggar and better than before.

  2. I have to admit, but I was wrong! Big, Strong and Fast certainly have changed my opinion and as Colin John Davies says, along side Liam this looks a good pairing for Mr Duff. Liam doesn’t have the pace but he knows where the back of the net is. Keinan Davis can certainly hold up play for Liam and Liam can create opportunities for Keinan. Another great option for Duffy! That said, the dotted line has to be signed!

    Come on you Swans ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฆข๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

  3. Strange to see us getting excited about a forward who has scored 19 goals in eight seasons .Equally strage to see us believing that Cullen is our main striker

  4. Villa Fan here, Keinan Davis is quality, never quite got it together at Villa, had a lot of jiggly injuries, but he has great feet, ball control, hold up play, and that was in the Prem. Showed his qualities at Notts Forest and helped them get promoted, more injuries last year at Watford. If he stays fit, youโ€™ll be happy you got him in your side – at what Iโ€™m sure will be a cut down price.

  5. Unfortunately strikers are judged on goals and we have sold two players this season with 30 goals combined, fingers crossed we get this right we are 10 points off the top already after 4 games, this season will be over before we can get a settled side!

    • It will take time to build this side and so we have to remain patient as otherwise any anxiety will spill over onto the pitch. We have the makings with this side and Keinan Davies if provided with the right service can right his name in Swansea Folklore.. We need Ginnelly now to get match fit and get more game time ad he is an exciting prospect too. Stay patient guys and stay behind the team and let’s see how we look after 10 games together.

      • Should have brought in a manager to build on and improve the belated success of last season not to dismantle the style and have to rebuild from sctratch.
Change takes time but evolution brings success not revolution.

  6. Jack Grealish who was at Villa with Keinan said of him, โ€œโ€ฆ Keinan Davis, he was the strongest player by far at Villa. Heโ€™s so, so strong. Heโ€™s one of the best hold up players Iโ€™ve actually played with and that includes the likes of Christian Benteke. He is unbelievable. The only thing that he needs to add to his game is his end product and he knows that he needs to improve on that. But I canโ€™t give him enough credit for how good he is just in the game, holding the ball up, his dribbling for a big fellow.โ€ (Swansea Independent.
Now, call me old fashioned but shouldnโ€™t a striker be able to finish?
Championship record last season was a goal per 343 minutes โ€ฆ that’s 12 goals a season if he plays every 90 minutes.

  7. We need wingers badly, there is no pace in the team and we have had this problem for three years ago now, when the swans have been strong we have always had wingers, there must be something in the lower league out there

  8. Good to hear the Villa fan rating .Also says heโ€™s had his share of injuries.Only played 143 games in 8 seasons .Hopeful but hsrd to get excited

    • Only played one full game for Villa since April 2017 so I’m not sure how much trust I have in the Villa fan’s assessment.
Maybe he’ll bring others into the game and his physical presence might create space for others. His lack of goals may allow others to score more frequently. ugh Sinclair scored 19 in our promotion season 50 were scored by 17 others. (Those 69 goals was only one goal better than last season โ€ฆ )
