Arsenal have “no plans” to recall Patino after Fulham interest

It has been widely expected for more than a month that the Swans could lose the services of Charlie Patino in this window with rumoured interest from Italy fuelling most of the speculation.

The speculation has increased due to Patino’s continued absence from the starting line-up for the Swans but reports today suggest that Arsenal have no plans to recall Patino from his loan during this window which could see him remain in Swansea until the end of the season.

Football Transfersย reported that Fulham had targeted Patino as one of three players they are keen to get to Craven Cottage this window with Luton defender Tenden Mengi, and FC Nurnberg’s Can Uzan the other two alleged targets.

The report states that Fulham made an early window approach for Patino but were told by Arsenal that there were no plans to recall him from his loan spell.ย  ย  The same report goes onto suggest that a summer move for Patino from Fulham could still be possible.

Despite his current absence from the starting side, there is more than enough from Patino to suggest that he has a large part to play for Luke Williams for the remainder of the season.ย  ย There is little doubt that he adds more creativity to a midfield which can be sadly lacking in that department at times and holding onto him during this window certainly means we can focus attention elsewhere if we are to strengthen in the next week or so.

Then there's absolutely no reason that the manager should be playing Fulton instead of Patino ,particularly at home.

Been watching the Swans since the very late 1970s and running the Planet Swans website (in all its current and previous guises since the summer of 2001 As it stood JackArmy.net was right at the forefront of some of the activity against Tony Petty back in 2001, breaking many of the stories of the day as fans stood against the actions where the local media failed. Was involved with the Swans Supporters Trust from 2005, for the large part as Chairman before standing down in the summer of 2020.
