The Swans, Luke Williams in particular, will be awaiting news over theย next 24 hours or so regards the injury that saw goalscorer Jamie Paterson forced to leave the 2-1 victory against Blackburn early.
Paterson went down with twenty minutes to go and immediately signalled his discomfort with play stopping immediately for the player to receive treatment.
There was even a signal for the stretcher to take Pato off but eventually he was helped from the play by the Swans medical staff and walked – albeit in discomfort – round the pitch and back to the dressing room to receive treatment.
It was a sad end for Paterson who had taken the second goal with some style after captain Matt Grimes won a key tackle near the edge of the Blackburn area and Williams will be hoping that the news of the injury will not be too bad given Pato’s recent performances in the team.
“I don’t know yet,” Williams said when asked about Paterson’s condition. “He’s a big player for us on and off the pitch. So I’m hoping that when it settles down that they tell me it’s nothing too serious.
“If it’s more, then maybe we have to have a scan. But hopefully the scan comes back and it’s nothing too serious.
“We take each stage, but we need some more time for it to settle down first.”
