Home Comforts

After a gruelling week on the road, Swans keeper Willy Gueret is eyeing the comforts on home as the Swans prepare toplay host to Carlisle and Rotherham on successive Saturdays at the Liberty Stadium.

A week of away fixtures started so well with an impressive cup win at Darlington but that was followed by just one point from the six available at Brighton and Blackpool leading Willy to make the statement that we have a problem on the road.

And that return could have been worse had it not been for some good saves, poor misses and generous flags at Blackpool over the weekend ”We dug in and defended well, but it could have been 3-1 or 4-1,” Gueret admitted. ”It’s a good point for us and we’re pleased not to lose at the end of what has been a very difficult week, but we’ve still got a problem on the road. ”I don’t think we travel very well. We do when we only have one away game, but when it’s two or three on the bounce we get ourselves into some stupid situations. ”I don’t know why it is, but we need to work on it and try to do better next time. ”Right now we’re delighted to have two home games to look forward to. It’s a relief because we’ve spent more time on the plane and the coach than we have at home in the last week. ”Now we can spend all week preparing for the next game and, if we can win it, the point at Blackpool will look even better.’

”I don’t know what happened at Brighton, but we got a reaction this weekend. ”It was a hard game. The pitch was poor and the wind made it difficult for both sides. We could have won the game, but a draw is probably fair and we’re pleased with that.”
