Roberto Martinez says he wouldn’t swap his squad for any other squad in League One or several in the Championship when it boils down to it.
Fresh on the heels of Andy Robinson stating that the Swans could have two squads occupying the top two places in League One, Roberto has backed that statement saying it’s as good as it gets at this level at the Liberty.
Speaking in tonight’s Evening Post he said It’s not just the bench but the players we left behind
“Having that strength in depth is vital because in football you cannot be allowed to feel that you’re certain to play week-in, week-out. That does not bring the best out of you.
“When we have players like Leon Britton, Andy Robinson, Alan Tate, Darryl Duffy, Joe Allen, Owain Tudur Jones and Kris O’Leary outside the starting XI, it shows you what great strength we have.
“It’s a fantastic situation to be in and I wouldn’t swap my squad for any other in League One.
“In fact, I wouldn’t swap it with many sides in the Championship either.
“First and foremost you need to have talent, you’ve either got that or you haven’t,” the Spaniard went on.
“But after that it’s about having that winning mentality and that desire to work for each other.
“It’s about being hungry to play every single game and to be successful for Swansea City.
“My players have got that, and that’s why I wouldn’t swap my squad for any other.
“Every player knows how important they are,” he said.
“Every player will have my full attention to try to improve them every day as long as they have the right attitude.
“If we are going to be successful we need everybody to be ready to take their opportunity when it comes.”
