Martinez Fuming…..

Swans manager Roberto Martinez was still fuming long after the final whistle against Huddersfield about the goal that never was.

Skipper Garry Monk had a seemingly good goal disallowed in stoppage time by referee Keith Hill to the annoyance of Monk who, in particular, had been having a running argument with the official through the game over several decisions.

Monk’s goal would have salvaged a point for the Swans at the end of a disappointing evening at the Liberty Stadium that saw them beaten at home for the second time this season.

Speaking after the game, Roberto said ”I’ve watched it time and time again and it was a good goal.

”I don’t want to come in here and say it’s going to level up over the course of the season because it doesn’t seem as if that’s going to happen.

”We have had quite a few decisions go against us already but nothing’s gone our way and on this occasion it’s cost us a point.

”It was shoulder to shoulder, the sort of contact you always get in the penalty box, and it’s very disappointing because it’s a huge decision.

”When we go away from home 50-50 decisions are going against us, and that’s understandable because the same thing happens all over Europe every weekend.

”But when referees come to the Liberty Stadium, maybe because we are a big club in this league with a big crowd, they seem to be trying to show that they will not be intimidated.

”It’s as if they are trying to make a point and it looks as though we’re going to have get used to it,”
