The names of Middlesbrough and Portsmouth were also added to the story but none of them have confirmed their interest in the player who as the subject of Derby interest in the summer.
But their football gossip column today said “Bolton boss Gary Megson is ready to make a £2million-plus move for Swansea playmaker Ferrie Bodde.
“Megson has put the highly-rated midfielder at the top of his wish list, despite making only 14 appearances in the Championship.
“But Megson and his scouts believe the 26-year-old Dutchman – who has five goals this term – is ready for the Premier League.
“Swansea, who signed Bodde from Den Haag last year, turned down big bids from Derby County in the summer, but could be forced to sell if Bolton’s offer is high enough”
And the message is clear – £2m may have been good enough at the beginning of the summer but it’s not any more……
