Vorm – We Have To Learn Lessons From This

Michel Vorm was a disappointed man after the Swans were beaten 3-1 at Norwich on Saturday

Vorm was beaten three times on the road – making it 12 goals in 4 games conceded away from the Liberty against four successive clean sheets at home – a stark contrast in results and performances?

Vorm said after the gameย “I didn’t really have a chance with any of the goals

“As a team we started very badly and after ten minutes we were 2-0 down.

“Norwich aren’t the best team in the league and if we’d played our own game and not conceded so early we had a good chance of winning.

“When you’re 2-0 down, the way teams play is to defend and wait for counter attacks.

“We were a bit unlucky in the second half but got sloppy and conceded the third. It was the perfect match for Norwich because we let in the early goals.

“At home we don’t concede any goals and against Norwich we can do better

“Against Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea we conceded goals but that was a different kind of level.

“I didn’t expect to concede three at Norwich, it was a bad day for us as a team.

“The defence wasn’t that good and at this level every team can score if you don’t defend well.

“It’s obviously easier if you have the squad all together a full week before an important match, but if you want to play at this level you have to play international games and then go and play well at the weekend.

“It’s different but if you want to be big players you must cope with it and this is a good lesson for us.

“We want to put the last result behind us and move onto Wolves, but it’s important we learn from what went wrong,” he added.

“Next week is important but we had opportunities to win against Norwich. It’s frustrating but we have to go on and if we play as we do at home, we can win matches like Wolves.

“If we play as we did on Saturday then we can also lose.”
