Kenny Dalglish has warned his Liverpool team that they will need to be patient as the Premier League’s pass masters roll into town

Dalglish has recognised that the Swans pass the ball well and with confidence and told his players and supporters that there is a need for patience as the two sides go head to head at Anfield.

Dalglish said “It’s a game that we’re going to have to be very patient in. Swansea pass the ball well, they move it well.

“Swansea might have spells of possession in the game, which we’ve got to accept. We will have to be patient in a lot of aspects of the game.

“So our supporters will have to understand that.

“They are one of the promoted teams, but they’re a decent side and they’ve got a good collection of points. We’ve got the utmost respect for them and their principles are similar to ours.

“I’ve been impressed with them. I don’t think it does you any good to change your principles, you have to change the whole team if you change your principles and they’ve not. That was the way they got their reward last year in promotion – why should they change? Good luck to them.”

Dalglish was also taking into account the Swans fixtures when asked about their record of just 1 point from 15 on their travels “I wouldn’t say struggled is the right word,” he said.

“I would just say they’ve had a difficult draw of games away from home.”
