At the start of the day it looked like Emnes would be the latest loan exit from the Liberty Stadium with limited first team chances available for him at the Swans.
With Jefferson Montero and Wayne Routledge ahead of him and no real injuries in the squad Emnes is set to spend much of his time watching from the side lines which will explain why the Swans were happy to see him loaned out.
That loan looked set to be to Bolton but for some reason during the course of the day then the deal collapsed and doesn’t appear to be happening which was as much of a mystery to Swans boss Garry Monk as it was to anyone else.
“I only got told as I was walking into the ground,” Monk said.
“I have to speak to the relevant people to understand what’s gone on there.”
This of course may not be the end of the deal but for now Emnes will remain at Swansea.
