No Piroe, no party at Nottingham Forest or Leicester City

Nottingham Forest are not pursuing a move for Joel Piroe at this time after Steve Cooper was linked with the Swans forward following the Reds’ promotion to the Premier League.

Piroe enjoyed a sensational first season in Wales netting 24 goals in all competitions and the Swans have made it clear that he will need to be sold to balance the books this summer.

But that is unlikely to be to Nottingham Forest according to the Nottingham Post whilst links to Leicester City were dismissed by a leading LeicestershireLive correspondent – their transfer priorities are thought to be elsewhere.

It all leads to more confusion this summer with the Swans looking to sell Piroe for significant money without what appears to be any serious interest.

That could see either the club reducing the figure on Piroe’s head – which has been done with Steven Benda if you can believe the words of Barry Fry – or looking to move on other saleable assets such as Michael Obafemi (linked with Brighton this weekend) and Flynn Downes.

The best option may be to hold tight and wait for clubs to become more desperate in the transfer market but that then creates its own risks in terms of signing a replacement.

The club is yet to delve into the transfer market with transfers out playing such a crucial part of what is to come.

  1. The club have not stated piroe must be sold to balance the books , it was stated that players will have to be sold to balance the books , they have not named individuals , why with the rubbish headlines

    • There has been plenty of talk and even Wales Online report as such:
“Swansea chiefs have agreed on their valuation of Piroe, and head coach Martin has said if that figure is met, the club would be in a strong position to keep hold of their other stars.”
It has been as apparent as possible that they want to cash in.

  2. It just goes to show Levien and Kaplan are running our club on a she string and are not willing to invest money into our club just relying on selling our best players it is about time them two got out of our club the Swans will not go anywhere with them two blood sucking pair.

  3. I would hope that Piroe would stay at the club for another season at least. If he repeats the 24 goal feat then he wiuld bring in a hansom figure indeed. Who know, if fo have a successful season next time around then hedvmake an excellent striker for the top league campaign. Then there is the two majority chairmen Pinky & Purky who throw out any deams I might have simply to make a profit. They’ve done nothing fir this club other than mess any great idea’s the club had drawn up! Sell Picky & Purky and who who knows what is possible?!

  4. If piroe is sold and needed players are not bought it just shows the owners for being poor in our needs, shame we can’t sell them

  5. The Yanks have no interest in progressing our club, any player of worth developed by our eager rookie managers will be sold underneath their noses to satisfy their many shareholders, its only a matter of time before our current manager realise he will not be backed with cash to strengthan for the new season
Feel so sorry for Russell Martin
