MAGS Given The Finger

MAGS had lined up, as a group, places for 22 supporters to sponsor the Stoke City game on October 14. This has been cancelled. To add insult to this injury, Mike Lewis did not have the balls to inform Keith Haynes of this decision personally but asked Diane in the Commercial department to do it. Gutless is what I call that. I have talked to Keith about the decision and the attitude that we are taking is ‘f k them’ (apologies for the language there) If they feel that they can do without the ร‚ยฃ1100 MAGS paid for the sponsorship, together with the money that was to be donated for the youth development then that is their choice. No further penny will be forthcoming from the MAGS to Swansea City other than entrance fees to watch the matches. What was the reason given? You may well ask, the reason given to Keith by Diane was that MAGS, as a supporters group, would ask questions of the management and running of OUR football club that they do not want posed. You know the kind of questions (Morfa, team strengthening etc.) and these are questions that, apparently, the club do not want it’s supporters asking. That much is their choice and it appears that they want supporters that will toe their party line and go along with any bulls t that they choose to feed us with. As a supporters club, MAGS have been through this situation before but this time, as I mentioned earlier, the attitude is f k them. The matter is not closed but the decision of the club is final. There will of course be further mentionings of this in publications and the media and the club will be asked to explain their actions. Mike Lewis will be receiving the letter sent by Keith tomorrow morning and whether he chooses to respond or not will remain to be seen. The supporters club has 350+ members in all areas of the country and, as a voice, like this medium we are loud. The club is sh tting on supporters from a great height. I would imagine that if we are banned from sponsoring games then it is only a matter of time before visitors to www.scfc.co.uk & www.JackArmy.Net will be deemed in the same umbrella – good luck to the winners of Gary’s competition, you may well need it. There will be supporters out there that will sympathise with the plight we have and others that believe it was bought upon ourselves – which ever category you fall into, just ask yourselves if this is the right way to treat supporters of a football club. Expect some more rumblings from the MAGS over the coming weeks and, whilst our support will always remain with the team, the owners and board members can whistle next time they want something. This football club is rotten to the core at the moment and I, for one, do not like it one little bit. To Mike Lewis I will say ‘do your own dirty work next time’ any respect I ever had for you has long since evaporated.
