Petty Charged

A letter has been posted to The Vetch Field today from The Football Association requesting that Petty and his sidekick John Shuttleworth attend a hearing at their head offices next week.
The crux of the charges centre around Swansea City’s failure to pay QPR eleven thousand eight hundred and four pounds from gate receipts from the first round game of the FA Cup five weeks ago. Petty authorised the retention of the cheque last week, and QPR immediately made a formal complaint to the FA. The letter will also state that if this money is not paid in full next week then Swansea City FC will be expelled from next seasons FA Cup.
Of course Petty is in Australia, and where Shuttleworth is today is anyone’s guess, but he has not been seen since December 12th after Swansea City were knocked out of the FA Cup by Macclesfield. He states he is nursing a sick relative, a similar story to Petty’s when he went back to Australia in November regards his sick daughter. Club officials have failed in all attempts to locate Shuttleworth for the past 4 weeks.
In the last 24 hours Petty has notified certain parties that he wants to relinquish his interests in Swansea City FC – for the good of the club. News that has been greeted with loud cheers throughout the Swansea City fraternity. However, we are also aware that he will be told in no uncertain terms that this is not to be a lengthy bargaining position with other people. He either sells or he doesn’t, and if he wants Swansea City to be the winner then he must do so immediately.
The saga runs and runs, but with official bodies again involved we must be extremely cautious as to our clubs future with the Football League placing a transfer embargo on the club, and now the FA involved we could find Swansea City placed in a position that even they cannot fight back from.
And all the time the FA of Wales – Do nothing.
