Don’t Think About It

Home > Story Index >You’re Not Welcome Lewis – Stay Away

On the back of the club’s appeal this week for calm in the remaining games, the return of Mike Lewis is bound to set heart rates racing and with a highly charged atmosphere as it is, it is a time bomb waiting to happen.
Of course, this is quite likely what Lewis is thinking. Mike Lewis may be one of the worst people to have in a football club but he is no fool. His thought train will be around "If I head to the Vetch and someone has a pop then I’ll complain to the FA and the Swans will get in trouble – they have problems hanging over them"
Mike is quoted in the post as saying "I do understand the sensitivity of it but I haven’t decided what to do yet, I will decide nearer the time when we will see where both clubs are. Hopefully both Swansea and Exeter will be safe from relegation by the time of the match. But I won’t decide until we know a bit more."
Maybe I am wide of the mark here but surely it is a case that directors of visiting clubs is at Swansea’s invite. If it is, then no invitation for Mike Lewis should be made for this game as it is a recipe for disaster. We all remember the Rushden game last season when Lewis was attacked outside the Harry Griffiths bar. This has the potential to cause the same incidents.
Mike Lewis does not give two hoots about this club, he didn’t when he was here and he is looking for reasons to get Exeter out of the problems that he and his mate have created. The same problems that he created here and we are struggling hard to overcome the repercussions of those mistakes.
Him turning up on Easter Monday in front of what is sure to be a bumper crowd is a major problem for us and as a football club we should be trying to persuade him that he should not come – failing that we just ban him from the ground. Last season he was advised by police not to turn up for games and maybe they should step in again.
This football club is a much better place without the gormless face of Mike Lewis darkening it’s doors and I for one hope that he sees sense and keeps his backside as far away from Swansea as possible come Bank Holiday Monday.
Thanks for offering to come Mike but the invitation never extended to you.
